Full Story Reports from the Field: The 40+ PTI Tourney at Chester Valley A little rain didn’t dampen the action at the MAPTA Men’s 40+ PTI Tournament hosted by Chester Valley Golf Club. Players from 13 different clubs battled inside the cages for a chance at glory. Mike Feehan (Whitford) and Jeff Martini (White Manor) reigned supreme, defeating Chester Valley’s Mike Duffy and Jim Reilly in a rain-soaked final. Feehan and Martini dropped only 1 set in route to their victory. While Nationals was taking place in Boston, this tournament had its own share of entertaining paddle with momentum swings galore! Thank you to MAPTA, Graham Kaltman, and all the participants who made this a memorable day of paddle action! - Andrew Miles Full Story 50+ PTI Event Results - The Southern Region dominating the Paddle Scene! Another report from the field via Nolan Bacchieri Concord Country Club hosted the MAPTA Men’s PTI 50+ Tournament on Saturday, March 2nd and though the rain was steady, all 32 teams were steadily joyous and competitive. The main draw final ended up seeing the youth prevail in this long, grueling tournament day as (pictured, left to right) the Wallingford duo of Colin McAleney and Chris Lobdell fell to CHAMPIONS (and brothers & Concord members CJ Scoffone and Daniel Scoffone. Thank you to Radley Run, Greenville, and Vicmead for allowing us to use their facilities and having lunch at each site. The morning rounds flew by while using four facilities and the finals of the main draw and all backdraws culminated at Concord. The tournament had a little bit of everything… father son duos, out-of-towners testing our MAPTA guys, multiple three-setters & tiebreakers, some slips & slides, beer flowing, battles of youth vs experience, and more.
